Cool Treats in #BurlON

Posted June 6, 2019by Kelly Harris

Summer days call for cool treats….like ice cream! Nothing beats an ice cream on a hot summer day and if you’re like us, you can enjoy it morning, noon or night. There are no boundaries when it comes to ice cream!  There are some great places for ice cream in #BurlON and we wanted to share the insider tips with you (disclosure: some taste testing was involved in order to fully give the best tips).  Locations are in no particular order.

La Creme de la Creme Creamery Inc. – 389 John Street
This is a new store that opened this spring. They offer real soft ice cream dipped in your choice of 18 flavours of Belgian Chocolate. Chocolate flavours like dark chocolate, salted caramel and Oreo to name a few. They also offer 10 additional toppings choices – like Fruit Loops and sprinkles.  Not in the mood for ice cream? No problem – try one of their Fruity Frenchy Fondues; a bowl of daily fresh cut fruit loaded with your choice of one of the 18 flavours of Belgian chocolate.

Easterbrooks – 694 Spring Gardens Rd
We love visiting Easterbrooks, located across from the Royal Botanical Gardens.  They offer real ice cream as well as milkshakes and good old fashioned floats.

Walker’s Chocolates – 3350 Fairview Street
How does an amazing chocolate store get even better? They offer ice cream – that’s how! And that’s just what Walker’s Chocolates on Fairview Street has done. Visit them for some ice cream with their freshly baked cookies…race ya! Or try one of their signature chocolate dipped frozen bananas for only $3 – hit the spot and the perfect amount of chocolate… plus it’s fruit – it’s good for you!

Kelly’s Bake Shoppe– 401 Brant Street
This popular downtown Burlington bake shoppe that is well known for it’s cupcakes also can satisfy those cool treat cravings on a hot day. Offering soft serve ice cream and cookie sandwiches how can you go wrong?

Boon Burger– 399 Elizabeth Street
You won’t believe how good it is until you try it! Canada’s first soy-free, dairy-free, soft serve ice cream.  Check back regularly for flavour changes, you don’t want to miss your fave!

RC’s Boardwalk – 2013 Lakeshore Road
This popular ice cream place located at 2013 Lakeshore Road always has a great selection of ice cream flavours and treats! Enjoy looking at the collective memorabilia while having your cool treat.

Lola Choco Bar & Sweet House– 423 Elizabeth Street
This little gem recently opened in beautiful Village Square in Downtown Burlington.  The decor is beautiful and a short time in here and you can completely forget where you are and feel like you’re away on vacation. While visiting make sure you enjoy some of their gelato.

Demetres– 1250 Brant Street
You can’t go wrong with a visit to Demetres. Their dessert menu is definitely one that takes some time to decide. Located at 1250 Brant Street just north of the QEW.
