The Burlington Taste Trail Sweepstakes (the “Contest”) is administered by Burlington Economic Development and Tourism (“the Administrator”). By participating, entrants agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions.
1. Eligibility
The Contest is open to residents of Ontario who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.
The following individuals are not eligible to participate:
- Employees, representatives, or agents of Burlington Economic Development and Tourism
- Employees of participating Taste of Burlington restaurants
- Employees or representatives of contest partners involved in prize fulfilment
- Immediate family members or persons living in the same household as any of the above
The Administrator reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time.
2. Contest Period
The Contest runs during the Taste of Burlington prix-fixe program dates. The Burlington Taste Trail will accept valid check-ins from January 26, 2026 at 12:00 a.m. EST to February 8, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. EST (the “Contest Period”).
No entries will be accepted after the Contest Period ends.
3. How to Enter
To enter the Contest, participants must:
- Sign up for the Burlington Taste Trail through
- tasteofburlington.ca, or
- tourismburlington.ca
- Dine at participating restaurants during the Contest Period.
- Scan the unique restaurant QR code printed on the table-top card and follow the steps to complete a check-in for that location.
- Check in to at least three (3) participating restaurants to earn sufficient points to unlock your entry.
- Select “Claim” within the pass to officially enter the Burlington Taste Trail Sweepstakes.
Only participants who complete all steps above, including clicking “claim” within the pass, will be entered into the draw.
There is a limit of one (1) entry per person. Multiple accounts, duplicate entries, or fraudulent check-ins are prohibited.
4. Prize
One (1) eligible winner will receive the Burlington Taste Trail Sweepstakes Package, consisting of:
- One (1) overnight stay for two people at the Burlington Waterfront Hotel
- Dinner for two at DiMario’s Trattoria in downtown Burlington.
- One (1) voucher for two tickets to a show of the winner’s choosing at the Burlington Performing Arts Centre. Show options include:
- Why Not Theatre: What You Won’t Do For Love (Mar 8, 2026)
- A Perfectly Reasonable Night of Comedy (Mar 10, 2026)
- Jesse Cook (Apr 28, 2026)
- Men of the Deeps (Apr 29, 2026)
- Our Interior Mornings (May 5, 2026)
Approximate retail value: $700 CAD, subject to final confirmation.
The following are not included in the prize and are the sole responsibility of the winner:
- Gratuities
- Transportation
- Parking fees
- Additional expenses or incidentals of any kind
The prize is non-transferable, non-refundable, and has no cash value.
5. Winner Selection
A random draw will be conducted by Burlington Economic Development and Tourism on: February 9, 2026
One (1) winner will be selected from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period.
The selected winner will be notified by email (using the email address provided when signing up for the Taste of Burlington Trail) by: February 10, 2026
6. Winner Verification and Claiming the Prize
To be confirmed as the winner, the selected entrant must:
- Respond to the email notification within 7 days of the notification date.
- Attend in person at the Burlington Visitor Centre to claim prize, located at: 414 Locust Street, Burlington, Ontario
- Present valid government-issued photo ID that matches the full name used to sign up for the Taste of Burlington Trail at the time of prize pickup.
- Complete verification no later than March 1, 2026.
If the selected entrant:
- Does not respond within 7 days,
- Fails to present valid ID,
- Fails to complete verification by March 1, 2026, or
- Is otherwise deemed ineligible,
they will forfeit the prize, and another entrant may be selected.
7. Disqualification
The Administrator reserves the right to disqualify any entrant who:
- Creates multiple accounts
- Uses automated or fraudulent methods to generate check-ins
- Submits falsified or invalid restaurant QR codes
- Fails to complete the required number of check-ins
- Fails to claim the prize in the Trail pass
- Violates these Terms and Conditions in any way
All decisions by the Administrator are final.
8. Privacy
Personal information collected for the Contest will be used solely for administering this giveaway, verifying eligibility, and contacting the selected winner.
By participating, entrants consent to the collection and use of their information in accordance with Taste of Burlington’s privacy policy.
Personal information will not be sold or disclosed except as required by law.
9. Limitation of Liability
By participating in the Contest, entrants release Burlington Economic Development and Tourism and its partners, employees, and affiliates from any liability arising from:
- Participation in the Contest
- Prize acceptance or use
- Travel or attendance associated with the prize
- Any technical issues, system failures, or lost entries
The Administrator is not responsible for technical malfunctions, website outages, or issues affecting entry submission.
10. Prize Fulfilment
Prize components, dates, and locations will be determined by Burlington Economic Development and Tourism in accordance with the winner’s choice. The winner must accept the prize as awarded.
If a prize component becomes unavailable, the Administrator reserves the right to substitute an item of equal or greater value.
11. Governing Law
The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws.
These Terms and Conditions, and any disputes arising from the Contest, shall be governed exclusively by the laws of the Province of Ontario, and the federal laws of Canada as applicable.
12. General Conditions
The Administrator reserves the right to:
- Cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest at any time due to unforeseen circumstances
- Correct any typographical, administrative, or technical errors
- Interpret these Terms and Conditions at its sole discretion
Participation in the Contest constitutes acceptance of these rules.
