Pepperwood Bistro & Brewery Offers Comfort Foods With Style

Taste of Burlington is back from February 24 – March 20, with 43 participating restaurants for their Winter Program.

It was great to hear that Pepperwood Bistro Brewery & Catering is part of this season’s Taste of Burlington Winter Pre-Fixe Program, presented by PV&V Insurance Centre Ltd.  Pepperwood Bistro offers a pre-fixed menu for lunch at $25 per person as well as $45 dinner selections, some of which we enjoyed last night.

For starters I chose the Pulled Confit Muscovy Duck Poutine. I may be the only Canadian who has never tried poutine, but I decided that if I was ever going to, last night was the time to do it. What a perfectly delicious and boujee spin on a classic dish. The hand-cut fries were thin and crispy, the duck was tender and gravy, flavourful.

For a healthier appetizer option, my daughter chose the White Bean Caprese Salad; a meal on its own packed with goodness accompanied by baby bocconcini with a balsamic kick.

We both couldn’t pass up the Grouper as our entree. The presentation was as inviting, as the flavours were delicious. A substantial portion of fish rested atop sauteed greens and a generous number of roasted fingerling potatoes, accented with an appealing creamy lemon piccata sauce.

While there was no room for dessert, it was included. Who could resist at least tasting these choices of: a silky smooth chocolate brownie with crėme anglaise, whipped cream topped and a caramel drizzle or the eye-popping portion of banana bread pudding dressed with the same toppings.
